After calculating the probable menu for the next meal, Bai Xingluo served Tong Sui another bowl of corn and sparerib soup, noticing he had nearly finished his first bowl.
“Your Excellency, is there anything you wish for?”
Tong Sui took the bowl and drank a hearty gulp before casually saying, “I want to eat such delicious food every day. Does that count?”
Bai Xingluo’s heart softened at his words. After a few seconds of calming himself, he replied, “This place is quite spacious, and we can add many things; you can buy whatever you like.”
“Then can I get some seeds?”
“What?”
Bai Xingluo suspected he had misheard.
“Vegetable seeds,” Tong Sui explained. “I noticed there’s a lot of empty space in the yard. We could plant some vegetables and then enjoy the fruits of our labor.”
“But the soil is quite dirty and might soil you. I can hire some bugs to take care of it; there’s no need for you to worry about that.”
“I want to do something for you.”
Bai Xingluo took a deep breath, once again reevaluating the brave creature before him, and nodded seriously.
“Okay, I’ll place the order now. Do you want anything else? Anything at all, a starship or something else, it’s all fine.”
“No, thank you.”
Tong Sui didn’t even have a driver’s license, let alone the ability to operate a starship. If he had to mention a hobby, it would just be staying at home and watching television.
He was such a slacker.
After finishing the meal, Bai Xingluo collected all the dishes that Tong Sui couldn’t finish, as usual.
Unlike his run-down house, this place boasted the latest smart housekeeping robots that didn’t even require him to wash the dishes himself.
Watching the humanoid mini housekeeping robots with their round, short, and chunky arms stuffing the plates into their bellies, as bubbles rolled and popped inside their transparent shells, was quite amusing.
Suddenly, Tong Sui realized something—a cooking robot must also exist, right?
Shouldn’t Bai Xingluo be cooking himself?
After the meal, Tong Sui returned to their new room.
The master bedroom was spacious, with marble flooring, simple yet elegant, and a floor-to-ceiling window facing the blue bay of the Galaxy River.
Dazzling lights dotted the distance, resembling a galaxy spread across the ground.
In contrast, the small cardboard box he brought from his rental home felt even smaller.
Tong Sui opened the box; the gaming equipment inside didn’t interest him much, and he wasn’t sure how to play, so he decided to store it in the utility room for now.
After organizing, he opened the wardrobe to arrange his clothes.
The closet was large, containing only a few clothes, all in simple light colours.
The most eye-catching was a deep blue military uniform.
It was well-preserved, neatly ironed without any extra wrinkles, with shining epaulettes representing supreme honour.
Tong Sui couldn’t help but recall seeing Bai Xingluo on the screen, clad in that impeccable military uniform, cold as the snow on a precipice.
There was a natural allure to it, perhaps a primal admiration for power.
“Your Excellency.”
Tong Sui had been so entranced that he jumped at the sudden voice from behind.
Turning around, his expression felt somewhat unnatural.
Bai Xingluo’s gaze paused, then drifted past him to the military uniform behind him.
The male bugs had always held disdain for military females, including the military uniform that symbolized strength.
Some psychologically twisted male bugs even liked to force their military females to wear this outfit to endure abuse, as if that could compensate for their inherent lack of combat prowess, alleviating their inner inferiority complex.
However, he didn’t see a similar disdain reflected in Tong Sui’s eyes.
Those bright eyes seemed to truly appreciate it.
Bai Xingluo unconsciously spoke, “Are you curious about the military uniform? If you want to see it, I can take it down.”
“Can I see you wear it?”
Tong Sui’s voice was barely above a whisper; perhaps he felt his request was a bit rude, causing a faint blush to creep to his ears. He quickly added, “…but if it’s inconvenient, that’s fine too.”
He genuinely wanted to see Bai Xingluo wear that uniform.
An arm stretched past him and took down the military outfit, the medals clinking with a crisp and cold sound as they swayed.
“As long as it is your Excellency’s request, I will comply.”
After not wearing this uniform for a long time, Bai Xingluo surprisingly felt a sense of unfamiliarity. This attire represented so much of his past experiences.
She couldn’t articulate the feelings bubbling within her.
She lifted his elegantly slender fingers, slowly fastening the buttons, each restrained motion imbued with both restraint and an inexplicable allure.
The outfit seemed tailor-made for her, the dark fabric emphasizing his fair skin, and his silver-white hair cascaded like moonlight, resembling a cold metallic sheen—an exquisite and sharp beauty.
Standing there, he resembled a sharp sword, reflecting a chilling glint, ready to traverse every state in the empire.
He should be someone like this, standing in the brightest position, not here to compliment anyone.
“Luo Luo, you look so good in that outfit.”
Tong Sui gazed at him, entirely absorbed in his figure.
Bai Xingluo momentarily lost his focus.
Just standing there and uttering a few simple words made Bai Xingluo’s heart race with excitement.
She had worn this military uniform in front of countless male bugs, witnessed all kinds of expressions—jealousy, disdain, fear—but he had never received such an expression.
As he fastened the last button, his hand trembled inexplicably. After several attempts, he finally secured it.
The click of the button echoed as Tong Sui captured this moment with his light brain, storing it in his personal space.
System: [Why are we saving this?]
Tong Sui replied: Don’t you think it’s beautiful?
Although the system was merely a smart program, it had the capability to distinguish beauty from ugliness.
